Cost Share Assistance for becoming Certificed Organic

Cost is often a barrier to farmers' ability to get an organic certification.  This new USDA program can help organic farmers get their certification by providing cost-share assistance to producers and handlers of agricultural products for the costs of obtaining or maintaining organic certification under the USDA’s National Organic Program.  Click here for more information

CalCAP loans for Small Businesses

The California Capital Access Program for Small Business (CalCAP SB or Program) encourages banks and other financial institutions to make loans to small businesses that have difficulty obtaining financing.  A State financing authority provides loan insurance to encourage the financial institutions to make the loans to qualified small businesses.  More information can be found at https://www.treasurer.ca.gov/cpcfa/calcap/sb/brochure.pdf

Specialty Crop Block Grant

The California Department of Food and Agriculture's (CDFA) Specialty Crop Block Grant Program (SCBGP) funds projects that enhance the competitiveness of California specialty crops. Farm of the Future, Sept 9th webinar

National Institute of Food & Agriculture program experts will host an informative Farm of the Future webinar September 9, at 3 p.m. CT. Farm of the Future is a competitive grant program to establish an agricultural test bed and demonstration site. It seeks to launch this rural test bed for precision agriculture, smart automation, data connectivity and transfer to demonstrate best practices in agriculture, forestry, and animal production systems that enhance sustainability and farm profitability.  Register Here
